Update Gone Wrong?

So last night I recieved the update, and instantly my phone locked up. Screen is unresponsive. I've pulled the batter 10 plus times now, and when it reboots it works for 20 seconds or so, then slowing locks up and becomes unresponsive. Late last night I pulled the memory card out just to see if this would help, and after 2 more times of locking up it started working again. Well this morning I woke and remembered my memory card was out. So i powered off the phone and put it back in. Phone worked fine. Now its early afternoon and my phone is locked up again and screen is unresponsive? Any suggestions?

Once again I have to report that when you do a OS upgrade (Even just BugFix upgrade) it is wise to hard reset your device, apps that was previously installed gets modified during the installation process and from time to time this can cause errors in apps that will cause lockups and errors...   I usually trouble shot before I suggest this but I have learned over the years that this situation seem to be a constant, I suggest for you backup and Hard Reset to resolve your issue.

I wonder what apps or group of apps are causing problems with the latest upgrade. Maybe I live a charmed life, or maybe I don't have the apps causing these problems, but I have not had any problems (knock on wood) since downloading the latest upgrade. No I did not do a factory reset prior to the download. My browser seems faster, my reboots seem faster, and I'm ;quite pleased with this latest update.

Wildman, we should start a petition for that sticky I suggested a while back. Why this isn't more common knowledge or at least included with the upgrade information supplied to phone owners is beyond me.

I've had to perform that procedure only one time. All firmware upgrades have been a most boring affair (except for when my phone ringer's volume increased as promised with 2.2.).

Nonetheless, it only make sense to start an update with a "clean'slate" (what an over-used phrase, but I can't think of anything better).

Sorry about your problem. I'm glad I have an AT&T phone. Always works!

What are you doing here?

And that is polar opposite 180-degrees from my AT&T experience.

As well as my friends that are still with AT&T for some reason none of us can figure out.

What I really like about Verizon is the terms of contract. like, when they change your plan without telling you, which is a FCC violation. The renew for two years, which is really a discount for towards a new more expensive phone. I also love the way you can never really get out of their plan without paying some kind of early termination fee. They just keep moving the renew for two date up. In the end, I finally won a settlement against them in court. Bikemike is right. it's a terrible service. Posts are all over the web about their problems. Check it out.

(By the way, can you provide a link to the documents of this court case you won? After all, that sort of thing is a matter or public record, right?)

Good for you bikemike.  My son had an AT&T phone and had nothing but problems with it. He switched to Verizon and couldn't be happier.

BTW, what AT&T phone do you have that "Always works".  I'll bet I can find a forum where people who have the same phone as you are totally frustrated with it.

Wanna bet?

I believe the appropriate phrase would be...

"Kinda like shooting fish in a barrel".

You might need to update apps you downloaded.  They might be having conflicts with the update.
