Even though I am anti-update, I have read it has been released to a limited number of customers. Interesting that no one has reported receiving it (not the leaked version) yet.

Everything I've read promises the "smoother" functioning phone galaxie speaks of.

And since it's being forced on us, I have no choice but to be optimistic.

I know people who have the leaked GB and they rave about it. It makes the droid x even better than ever. Verizon/Motorola should be proud of GB, I can't wait until its get pushed to all droid x owners.

hopefully they do push it out soon..i had a chance to play with one that had the update..its awesome that's all i say..

Hope you realize that a large amount apps has not been updated to function with GB correctly, all I really see is a number of users having issues because of incompatible apps and blaming the OS and demanding a new update...

The reason VZW doesn't say anything about an update is that it could always turn out to have a fatal flaw and the entire update get scrapped.  Remember when VZW and Motorola stated that the Droid X would have Flash by late summer 2010?  There were all sorts of people complaining the definition of "late summer" and forming all sorts of conspiracy theories.

What's after GB? I want that one? I hadn't used GB yet but lets just get a jump on the next Version. I heard not only will it not have a Bootloader, but a completely blank system and everyone can invent what ever phone system along with customizations until the owners little hearts desires. There's also rumor it comes stock with a car lighter and DUEL cupholders :smileyhappy:

The rumor is the next update will be angel food cake. It will arrive the same time 5G does, around the time the then often delayed Droid Bionic finally gets released with hand-written invitations from Moto asking owners to please rooot the phone.

All of this happens in 2012 and I don't have to tell you what that means.........

Unless they pay me too root I am out, I will have no security to make sure I am getting official upgrades that wouldn't do something horrible like give my personal information to third-party entities. 2012 you say?


Does anyone know why were expecting this update? Other then there was a leak? It seems Moto posts what updates will be coming out, where as vzw will wait until it is released. I imagine no body remembers when and if there was ever a official announcement that it would.

Because the recent leak appears to have been pushed to a few lucky users devices and the image file has the proper signatures to be installed without being modified which proved it wasnt a Beta because the image doesnt normally carry the correct signature data.   This doesn't mean this is final build but this usually indicates that its may be ready and the few were just the test batch, 2.2 was released the same way..
