I have a Motorola Droid I intend to use on WiFi only to test various Android applications. Currently, the phone was reset to factory settings and I would like to upgrade to Android 2.2, which I believe is the newest OS this phone can accommodate.
Unfortunately, the About System->System Upgrade indicates that the phone is "currently up to date". I do not plan to activate service on this phone. How can I go about upgrading the phone safely. Thanks.
(Also I have a triangle icon on my status bar which I cannot determine its purpose. Thanks.)
