I had a blackberry and have switched to the Droid. I don't feel that I am using a ton more apps, mostly email and occasional FB - which is what I used my blackberry for. I have looked at my data usage and it has skyrocketed and I cannot figure out why. I have downloaded a few apps, so on those days, I can understand the spike. But on the other days, I have no idea why it is so high. i am also noticing that my battery barely lasts 12 hours.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is there some setting I can turn off without turning off my email? Thanks!

go to settings>about phone>battey use
and see whats using your battery
what widgets do you run? how often are the updating?
define tons of data? i use an avg of 4-5gb a month, my wife 1-2
whatever is using your data may be running down your battery
example: mail check every 5 min, facebook update every 5 min ect ect
