I was talking to someone on another forum and found out that it IS on my phone.
To see it on your phone touch Settings>Applications>Manage applications and at the top of the display choose the tab ALL. Then go down the list to Verizon Remote Diagnostics.
Bring it up and scroll down to see the LONG list of PERMISSIONS. The only one they missed was permission to see my personal Bank Account.

That was in the FP1 update right? I still haven't installed it.

Wow, i just read that list of permissions. I would NEVER install an app that gave anyone that kind of permission. Apparently, they have access to my calendar, the ability to use services that cost money, my GPS location, send email to guests, etc.
Even if Verizon can be trusted with all this information a) they don't need all of it and b) it seems like a bit potential security hole, especially for something that is installed on so many different devices, whether people want it or not (and without giving people the ability to opt out or remove it).
I think I understand the intention of things like this but it is very big brother-y . . . not super cool with being forced to have certain programs installed on my phone. I understand that Verizon subsidizes the cost of phones to make them affordable at upgrade time but there is a certain point where I think they're abusing their influence on devices we ultimately pay for (whether up front or over time). Maybe I'm just being paranoid but it doesn't sit well with me. It's things like this that make me want to . . . "set my phone free."

Thanks for the information. Microsoft does the same thing. I have consented to their expert going into my PC to take a look-see and help me. You have to give them permission and after they finish you can remove (delete) the permission. I trust that Verizon's works the same way.

At this time I see this as more of a positive than a negative, for some the users that live a distance from a store wont have to run to the store anymore to have the issue with their device verified or resolved. Right now if you have a issue and want the device replaced for a malfunction you usually have to go to the store and have a tech check the device out, not you just call CS and they can troubeshoot the device from their end.
Hope to see positive feedback on this product in the future...

Personally, I think they could have just as easily made the program available in the marketplace for diagnostics and we can install and uninstall it if we plan on using it. Leaving a door open for someone to screw with my phone, optional or not, does not please me.
As you said, it SHOULD be used as a positive thing but honestly, it's only really about as good as the people on Verizon's end that will be operating it and, I will admit, I have had limited experience working with Verizon's technical team in the past but I've called in just two times and both times were a huge waste of time and the people trying to help didn't seem to have any idea what they were talking about or what they were doing.
I guess we'll see how it all plays out.

The suggestions about installing from the market isn't a bad ideal, maybe it could be suggested to Verizon and see if this is a workable solution if this becomes a issue.
Now as for your concerns of someone doing something unwanted without permission, I understand your concerns but from what I have experienced with using Androids code restrictions to be able to access a users data or access any control of the device it would a bit difficult.
Even if a hacker got access to the application you should be safe because mostly all the personal data is stored under the root of the device and as long as the device doesn't have SU access they should not be able to damage or transmit any more personal data than the common third party apps now.
Basically we will have to see...

Simply put, I will NOT install "Super CarrierIQ" on my phone. I get notified about this update 10+ times a day, which is insanely annoying, so in a couple months when my contract is up, (if I last that long), I will be leaving Verizon. You will not force such software on me.
