Verizon WEB page pops up every time I connect Droid to my PC

I have a brand new HTC Droid Incredible with Android 2.2. I installed HTC Synch and it works well to synch my Outlook contacts and calendar. The problem is every time I plug the phone into the PC, Verizon pops up a webpage with LOUD advertising about VZW or something. How do I stop that from happening?

Don't be fooled. Verizon has disabled this fix. Or maybe it was never a fix. Dialing ##7764726 does nothing.

There is more you need to do than just dial that number.

Below are the instructions. Worked perfectly for me. It removes the REQUEST to load the VZW manager on your PC.

If you initially allowed the VZW  Manager to load on your PC, the program WILL show up everytime you connect. In that case you need to go into your control panel on your PC and delete the program.

No need to have the phone connected to the PC to complete this process.

dial ##7764726
Hit Call
Type Password 000000 (that's 6 zeros)
Hit Feature Settings
Choose CD ROM
Click Disable
Hit menu, commit modifications (it will say no item changed)

This solution does NOT work on the HTC Incredible.

If it is not working, you are missing a step somewhere as this fix is only for HTC phones.

This does not work on MY Droid Incredible either.  I've dialed with 1 AND 2 # signs and the phone doesn't even dial out.  When I dial without the # signs, Verizon says the call can't be completed as dialed.

So, this is NOT a valid fix for the Droid Incredible by HTC.  If you can't even get the first step to work, it's not a matter of "missing a step".

I just tried this fix and it DID work with my Incredible. It worked perfectly and was an extremely quick fix.
