Hi,
I got my Droid Incredible two weeks ago, and sometimes when I'm texting someone, the vibration when I hit a letter stops. This is quite annoying, because it helps when I'm texting, and when it stops vibrating so does hitting the home key, vibration notification etc.
Is there a way to stop this from happening? Does have to do with the new update that the Droid got months ago?
Thanks for the help.

I have the same problem with my phone. I noticed the problem had started when I downloaded a GBA ROM onto my phone. Could be the software though. Not saying the problem was caused by the rom, just that is when i noticed it starting to happen. Personally, I have been unable to find any information about it online that is any kind of helpful. It isn't a big issue for me, more of an annoyance than anything, obviously if it is causing you serious problems with the phone you would want to either send it to HTC to diagnose and repair or get a replacement from verizon.

@acosu27, are you using the default incredible ui and software or any kind of customizations? Also, which keyboard app do you use to type? If you have more than one, have you noticed this same behavior with all your keyboard apps?

i use the stock keyboard and haven't altered my device in any way. mine also does this sometimes. it began after i updated to android 2.2. it never really bothered me so i've never looked in to it. periodically, it will stop vibrating mid text, and then start vibrating again. sometimes it will also lag in showing the charcters that i've already typed...but like i said, it hasn't caused me any problems so i haven't tried to fix it.

The problem that you are experiencing can be caused by a few factors. How many applications are running in the background, including having the "Background Data" option checked. At the time you are composing a new message, and if several updates/syncs are going on at the same time, can impede performance.
To turn the "Background Data" feature off, follow the steps below:
Tap Menu
Tap Settings
Tap Accounts & Sync
Uncheck the Background data option.
Another factor that can interfere, is how fast you are typing on the screen. In either case, I recommend that you remove the battery on your device and place it back on to perform a soft reset. Note: You will not lose any data by following this step.
You may also want to uninstall any apps that you downloaded from the Marketplace that you do not use to have optimum memory performance.

I hope this helps.

Sorry I can't help you either. Personally, I don't prefer haptic feedback anyways. I'd rather have audio feedback when typing. I type fast and while doing that I find haptic to be more of a nuisance rather than a help!

Hello,
If you have completed all of the troubleshooting steps provided, and since troubleshooting via the forum is extremely difficult I recommend that you take your device to one of our Verizon Wireless Corporate Stores for a hands-on review. To determine the closest location, please enter your address information at the link below:
I recommend calling the store location prior to making the trip to ensure there is a technician on duty.
Thank you.
