Voice Dialing with Bluetooth

My voicedialing will not work properly with my HTC Droid Incredible 2. A friend had the same problem with his phone and I was assured when I purchased the phone yesterday, that the problems have been ironed out. It's an issue with the Android software, not the Bluetooth device. I tell it to "Call Home" and it calls a number that doesn't even remotely sound like "Home". Does anyone know of a patch for this? If not, I'm taking it back because this phone will kill me if I try to use it in the car...quite literally.

Are you using the native Voice Dialer app? If so, have you tried another app like Vlingo? Use the InCar feature of the app.

The problem with using Vlingo is that you still have to dink around with the touchscreen to place the call. So this is not a good alternative if you want to be as completely attentive to driving as possible (and trying to get Vlingo to behave as needed just is not going to happen).
I got the Dinc2 as a replacement for my original Dinc since the BT got really flaky and wouldn't take the 2.3 update. Unfortunately, for as much as I really want to like the phone, I'm having trouble with voice dialing since it seems to not be accurately interpreting my voice (which was NEVER a problem with my original Dinc).
The Dinc2 I'm using has the 2.3 update and I'm using a Plantronics Voyager Pro BT.

I got the Dinc2 as a replacement for my original Dinc since the BT got really flaky and wouldn't take the 2.3.4 update. Unfortunately, for as much as I like the phone, I'm having trouble with voice dialing since it seems to not be accurately interpreting my voice (which was NEVER a problem with my original Dinc). I also want to stress that this is the ONLY major problem I have with it but it is a BIG concern since I drive a lot to work and back. Being hands-free and not having to look anywhere else to place a call is VERY important to me. Also, although I have not yet tried it, I gotta believe that voice-to-text is also not accurate either given what I am experiencing. This is also a problem when using it hands-free without my BT connected so the issue is not with the BT.
The Dinc2 I'm using has the 2.3.4 update and I'm using a Plantronics Voyager Pro BT. BTW, I have also tried re-pairing the BT headset to the Dinc2 a number of times .... no joy. Updating Google Voice solves nothing and, as I have already pointed out earlier, Vlingo doesn't work as a fully hands-free dialer for the Dinc2.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the recently rolled out 2.3.4 update? I thought I read somewhere else that there were some other BT issues as well and that a maintenance patch would be released sometime soon (although HOW soon is another question entirely).

Just spoke with VZW tech supoprt and they have acknowledged that the voice dialing problem is known and that they are expecting to resolve with a maintenance patch. However, they have no expected release date for the patch.
