Voice Mail Access

I use a Droid 2 global.  I've been working on getting to my voicemail access without having to enter my password each time.

I've set up my access in the format: #86,password# via Settings, Call settings, Voicemail settings.  It doesn't work.  However, if I go into voicemail via Contacts with the same configuration it works correctly.   What's up with that?

On most devices, including BlackBerry’s and PDA’s, you have the option of altering your voice mail speed dial so that the password is automatically entered for you.

There are two different ways to alter your speed dial, the option you choose will depend on if you can edit your voice mail speed dial.

1. Edit your voice mail speed dial that is already programmed in slot 1.

-        Go to “Menu” and choose “Contacts.”

-        Scroll to “Speed Dials.”

-        Scroll to slot one, and see if the option to remove or edit shows on the bottom.

-        Select “Add” and then choose “Pause” followed by your voice mail password and the # key.

2. Change your voice mail number via your contact list:

-        Choose “Contacts.”

-        Scroll to “Voicemail.”

-        Choose “Edit.”

-        Select “Add” and then choose “Pause” followed by your voice mail password and the # key.

I have listed below an additional option to add "Pause Dialing" to your voice mail so that you do not have to enter the password each time you access your voice mail.

  1. From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located on the bottom of the screen).

  2. Touch Settings.

  3. Touch Call settings.

  4. Touch Voicemail settings.

  5. Touch the Voicemail number field.

  6. Touch the pound (#) key.

  7. Touch the desired option keys.
    Repeat as necessary.
    Pause
Inserts a 2-second pause between the number dialed and the additional numbers.
    Wait
Inserts a hard wait that will cause the system to wait for additional input before continuing.
