Being a former AT&T customer all I can say is this phone rocks. I loved HTC phones and fully intended to get a new EVO. Being a long time Windows mobile user I was skeptical about Android OS. After 1 week of use.... I'm sold! I got my Droid X and the same night got the upgrade. So far no problems. I never knew how fast the vzw system can be (was edge with at&t) Trust me I was once a diehard Motorola user so I'm so glad they are back on top. It doesn't hurt that my buddies at work are all jealous. Now all I have to do is learn to forward a text!!!!LOL So glad I didn't get that EVO.

Yeah you made the right decision, the droid x is a wonderful device and Verizon's reception service is the best. As for forwarding a message, just open message and click mail envelope at bottom and select forward.
Text messages just press and hold on message in threader view and select forward...

I live in MS, which should be the crotch of data availability (as opposed to the armpit, LOL) in the modern world, but in my extensive travels across the state, as well as Alabama and Louisiana, I've run into only 3 or 4 short, desolate stretches of highway where the Verizon data signal dropped to 1X. AT&T data service in these 3 states, while getting somewhat better, is deplorable, except the major cities (as though there is such a thing in MS...).
