I guess the difference in price is due to area and this is why the ad ask for area code because mine don't show that price but Walmart is a company that has credibility so I figured this ad was worth sharing.

Yes, the phone is showing a $120.00 discount which expires on 1/10/11. That brings the price to $29.99 for 2 year contract.

I've been thinking about going for the Droid X for months when I became eligible for my new every two & have been following the postings to make sure I knew what the issues were & possilbe solutions (thanks to all the people posting solutions). I ordered my new Droid X from Walmart.com with my 2 year contract extension 1/10 & should receive it 1/17 (don't like waiting, but like the 49.99 price compared to Verizon's price). The process was super simple, can't wait for my new phone! Thanks again to all the people sharing their knowledge, I'm hoping for a great experience with my new Droid.
