Hi,
I hope this makes sense. We currently have 2 phones with Verizon. The primary line is smartphone and eligible for upgrade, so we are hoping to get the Droid X on Thursday. The other line is not eligible and is not a smartphone (dumbphone).
My first question is, can I add a line and get another Droid X on Thursday for the $199 (after rebate price)?
If I can, can I then have the old phone number for the line that was not eligible (dumbphone) put onto the Droid X? If so when should i change the current dumbphone plan to a smartphone?
Then i would make the old dumbphone have the new add a line number, and make it not a smartphone. Is this all do-able?
Sorry if its confusing, I appreciate any help!
Amy

So if I get you right you have 2 lines now and you want to start a 3rd in order to get two Droid X at the discounted price and you want to switch the new number with the 2nd lines number? If this is correct and you are eligible to start a 3rd line I believe you should be able to get it at the discounted price but I believe they will want you to activate that device with the new number but this isnt a issue because all you will have to do is go home and switch the numbers with the online system. But you may want to ask the sales rep at time of transaction, they may do it for you in store.
I think as long as you are the primary account holder and you agree to a new contract they wont have an issue.

I want to change my verizon cell phone number and the associate in the store kinda told me how I can do it on line and save the $15 I would be charged in the store. I am not able to find anywhere on the verizonwireless site how to do it. She told me all I had to do was put in the prefix exchange i want and whole list of available numbers would come up. Any help you can give is appreciated. Thanks!

I really think they told you incorrect information, I havent seen this option and I searched for "Change Number" in support area and it said that you need to contact CS to be assisted further.. I think you need to call 611 from your phone or (800) 922-0204 from landline because that seems a little to easy to do, the part about clicking on a cell and enter area code and all the numbers in their data base for that area will show for you to select from, I really dont see happening.
Really sounds like the sales person did not want to deal with it so he passed you along....

You can change your mobile number from your online account, if you are registered as the account owner. The steps are below.
You will need to sign into your online account as the account owner. Once you have logged in, on your My Verizon home page, on the right side, there will be a box labeled Account actions. Please select the option to change phone number. Once this is done, you will select a date for the changes to become effective and follow the remaining steps until you receive a confirmation of your number change. HTH!
