All of a sudden my Charge won't let me use the home button, the puzzle unlock screen is gone, certain options are missing when I hold the power button like airplane mode. All of this just happened today, I just got the phone on Monday. The v. of 2.2.1.
I have all sorts of apps that have to be force closed including G Music Beta and it won't let me download Netflix.
I did the reset with no luck, did it a couple of times. Finally had to do the factory reset. That seems to fix it but lost some of the apps that were installed including the google market app.
Not sure why by a lot of apps like email, google voice, etc. have to force stop. It takes about 4 tries to get my email and I still can't get in to google voice. I am guessing I should just take it back to the store and try a new phone?

Those problems are hard to diagnose at a distance. I suggest you take the phone back and the Verizon store and have tech support look at it. If they can't fix it to your satisfaction, you can get a new Charge from the store for free (if within 14 days of original purchase). This new phone will also have a 14-day no-cost return attached to it.
