I have the cable and downloaded the Netflix app Works great on the Droid but I would like to watch on the hotel TV
The TV has a HMDI 1 and 2 output outlets I plug in and it says No HDMI 1 signal.
Any idea how I can get it to work? It is a Westinghouse tv that has a VGA connection and HDMI connections

I Googled the problem and stock out of the box, HDMI is for user created content only. Thus only pictures and videos shot by the Droid X goes out the HDMI port.
However, further searching reveals that there is a app called RealHDMI ($3.90) in the market that is suppose to allow HDMI output all the time. Thus applications like Netflix will work through the HDMI port.

There is a free app located here

I have not used either app, just found them on the market through a link. Use these are your own risk since I cannot guarentee how good/bad either of the apps.

Both of those apps will work ok but make sure you understand one thing that the developers point out...
Enable HDMI output on your Droid X in all applications!
Note: Your phone display will freeze when displaying on the TV. Sorry, this is a hardware limitation of the Droid X.
Just I thought I point this out because a number of users overlook this little fact that is a important thing to know...

Thanks for the info Very good I mainly bought this cable as a rep at Best Buy said he watches Netflix daily thru the Netflix app as he showed me where the he had it downloaded on his Droid so I assumed it would work right thru that. He did not mentioned any other appl needed.
What do they mean "the phone display will freeze when displaying on the tv?

The External Display appl works great on my Droid X with Netflix
I went to Best Buy and they got it working and took the time and were very professional.
The Droid X2 worked fine without the appl....... Guess it must be an upgrade of the Droid X
Thanks for all your help and suggestions Great forum.....

It would made a difference to tell us this.... the X and the X2 are not interchangeable.. they are two different phones with different capabilities.
