Weird sudden battery drain

Today while at work, my battery completely drained itself in a matter of an hour and a half. While sitting in my pocket, doing nothing.
Before work I had 60% battery, and I went to check it literally an hour and a half later, it had completely died. I hadn't used it at ALL during that time, as the phone is not even allowed to be out at all (technically shouldn't even be on my person)
I hadn't sent or received a single text or call all day, and used Facebook and email maybe 4-5 times before that. I charged it for a full 30 minutes straight in my car, and the battery status thing on the screen was stuck on 0% the whole time, and never charged.
Anyone else had this problem? I have it plugged into a wall charger now, it's been on there for about 2 hours and is finally at 10%
I looked at the battery usage as soon as I could get it to turn on, and nothing was abnormally large or out of the ordinary, no running apps that aren't always running. I usually get a day and a half out of my battery.

Well its possible the battery is near end of life an i'm only speculating Vereye My new ext. Battery i got has blew me away on how long its lasting before charging it yesterday it went darn near 2 days before i had to hook it up an i waite till the red light starts blinking or that dreadfull noize it make when it wants to be hooked up.
It might of been since it was in your pocket the radio might of been working alittle harder to comunicate with the tower so
in that it may of just Zonked it down. Have you thought of putting it in Airplane mode while working an when you get your break to call home to visit with your spouce kick the network back on.

Bear it makes the sound when its got about 15 or 10% percent of battery remaining the sound is not bad when i'm listning to music with out my earphones connected but when they are connected an if I sometimes forget" like going to sleep" an the battery is that low i pay for it. I know its there to remind you that the battery is getting low an that's good but as i mentioned this subject in a post i done last year. I think moto could have tone down the sound alittle or make were you can un check it in the settings when you have the earphones connected to the X.
An thanks for reply: Have a good day B33

probably an app draining the heck out of it if you aren't using it......batteries usually don't go bad within 6-7 months like that. I have the original stock battery that the phone came with last November and its still as if it is new....pop it out and leave it out for 10-20 secs then put it back in and start up....more than anything probably just needs to calibrate

Did you notice the phone getting hot while this was going on? In any case, check the battery usage and click on the graph at the top. Does it show that your phone is AWAKE even when the SCREEN is off? If so I would recommend you clean your system cache. I had to clear my cache twice since the most recent update. I have not had the extreme battery usage you describe since I cleared the cache.

Thanks, guys. I'll try your suggestions and see if anything changes. I checked the battery usage and running apparently after and nothing was running or using the battery anymore than usual. There's also another weird thing that's been happening the past two days. I'll randomly get a Yahoo notification that says email notifications have stopped. I'll have to go back in Yahoo settings and turn it back on.
EDIT: This Yahoo email notification thing has happened 4 times since I posted this, and twice yesterday. It's driving me crazy! What could cause my settings to change without me doing so?
