What is trick to logging in to this forum from /Droid X?

I can log in from IE8 and firefox but can not log in from my DX.

I know I have uid and PW correct but no access.

This is strange because I do it all the time, all I do is go to verizonwireless.com and login from the top right corner option...   Are you getting any errors because? You should be able to log in the same way you do from the desktop browsers.

I am coming up to a login prompt over on the left middle and it does not remember my uid so I am using my cell phone number for the uid and the password is the same as the one I use to login on the upper right when I coe in via IE8

Are you using the Mobile version or the desktop version on your device because Im using the full desktop version on mine and the login is exactly as the version on desktop with the login on the right.

Can you provide a stepp by step of how you do the log in process from your Droid X?

To avoid the banner covering it up... press and hold login text until the login banner stays on top and then you should be able to log in... I was wondering are you trying to log into account or forum area because the logins are in different areas? The forum is on left when you click forum login...

Yes I was grabbing the wrong url and going to the left.

I will try long press on the login text and see if I can ward off the dreaded advertising overlay.

If you want to log into your account you do also know that you can do that with the My Verizon app on your device?

My copy of My verizon movile  just takes me to see my bill, plan etc.  No log in involved

I got it to surf to vzw.com/myverizon and tried unsuccessfully to navigate to Forums -- Got to the login on the left and could not log in ther.  Used both my uid and the cell phone number for the login name and very carefully entered the apw.  No Joy in mudville.

I am vision imparied.  Can you give me a step by step of how youlog into the Forum so you can read and post off your droid x to give me a path to follow that works?

The login on the upper right is the only thing that has ever worked for me.  I uses my phone number for the login name.  The login on the left never works no matter what browser of device I use to connect.  There has to be a FAQ or tutorial that I can follow to work my way through this maze.  Some sort of Cheat Sheet.  ???

I always use this link to get to the community page and then select the sign-in link from there. It then takes you to the community sign-in page. I don't have any problems unless I miss-type my password the first time. LOL

Thanks for the link.  Took me directly to the left side Login.

That never works for me.  I switch between my cell phone number and my forum user name for the uid and it never works.  Only thing that works for me and then only from my desktop is the Upper Right Login where it saves my cell phone number for the UID.

When you go in on community, do you use your cell phone number for the UID?

Also, when you go in from the community what do you select where it says Movile/full?

I use my "gerio" log-in for the forum, which I think is another log-in from the "My Verizon" log-in which is my phone number.

And I float back and forth between the mobile version and the full version, the X does both equally well.

Perhaps I have a differentpassword on the Forum login in the same way there is difference in the login name.

My Verizon = Phone number and PW = PW1

Forum = Forum User name ahd PW = Pw2

Perhaps intended to be more secure??

Bummer, used my Desktop to go to community.vzw.com.. Got to the Forum Login and entered my Forum username as the uid and hit forgot password and it says jmccoy70 is not an active account, Please Activate.  So at the Forum Login prompt jmccoy70 is inactive but if I go to MyVerizon Login prompt where it uses my cell phone number I can log in with no problem and it shows jmccoy70 is ready ready to 'rock n 'roll

Any ideas?

I am really confused... you should be using the same login you used to post on the forum, you have to know your login because you are posting now.. Are you inputting same login info that you are using to post on this forum?

Two Login Points

Upper Right is a My Verizon login that uses the Cell phone number and a password. (vzw.com)

Middle Left is a Forum Login that uses the Forum User name and apparently a different password (community.vzw.com)

Upper Right works good for desktop but advertizing obsures in for the DX

Middle left fails in every case which leads me to believe that the password for the Forum Login is different from the password for the MyVerzon login.

If I login to myverizon on the upper right I can navigate to the forum and post as I am doing here.

If I go to the Forum Login and enter my forum user name, and hit forgot my ppassword it errors out telling me that jmccoy70 is inactive and that I need to activat it.

Not really sure what is causing that, it sounds like you have the desktop to either remeber password or have the option for a single login under the options menu but the stange thing is that this should still work the same way when you log in on your device....  Maybe you should use the forgot pasword option and select a new one and see if this resolves the issue.... Also are you sure you are using the correct caps on the logon and password on the phone?  Since the password doesnt show but you can see the letters as you input them for a few seconds, try inputing password in one letter at a time and verify that you are using the correct letters.

OK by the numbers

1.  I have gone through the login sequences at least 50 times before posting

2.  Fanily members, noticing the smoke coming out of my ears, gather round and chant the characters being entered to ensure the correctness and case.

3.  There are two different login screens vzw.com and community.vzw.com

4.  Login via vzw.com consistently works and community.vzw.com consistently fails

5.  Vzw.com uses the cell phone number for UID and community.vzw.com uses the forum UID jmccoy70

6.  The two logins appear to use different Passwords

7.  At community.vzw.com, using jmccoy70 as uid and hitting forgot my password errors out with jmccoy70is not an active user and needs to be activated.

8.  The DX can not use the Vzw.com login because advertizing obscures the login boxes.

So several questions:

1.  Are your Passwords the same for both login points?

2.  Using your DX, how do you login to vzw.com without having a problem with the advertizing obscuring the login dialog?

3.  Is there a way to upgrade the MyVerizon Wedget on the DX to allow login and accesss to the forum through that point of entry?

I know that I have two completely different userIDs and passwords to log into verizon. 😄 One for My Verizon and one for the community. I almost never log in to My Verizon using my phone and I always log out of My Verizon before using the community link I gave above to log into the community from my laptop.

I don't know if this will help you, but before July 23 you had to have two separate logins one for My Verizon and one for the Verizon community (residential and wireless). There are a few posts about it in the about community section. For some reason the community split into two groups on July 23rd. At that point new users some how had their community IDs tied to their My Verizon account. Existing users could merge IDs (I think) or keep them separate. I forget all the details.

Perhaps this has something to do with your issue.
