Curious if Verizon has made an announcement regarding this update.

Nothing is being announced yet by Motorola since, as noted earlier, Android L hasn't been released yet.  But when it is, you can check here:

It is a never ending cycle. Where is my android updates? Where are my Windows phone updates? Where are my BlackBerry updates. Thank the heavens Apple does their own updates.

Then one day later its "my device doesn't work as before" "Verizon better give us new phones" ( Verizon did nothing to the devices), how do we back track to the previous OS? Etc. Etc. Etc.

Verizon cannot win either way.

Check Motorola boards. They have a timeline and what devices will be updated or not. It all starts with the manufacturer.

Yep some person's phone came with Jelly Bean worked great. Then they heard about Kit Kat and now it's junk and Verizon is evil for not pushing out an upgrade fast enough. Well they got 4.4.2 but now 4.4.4 is out and so 4.4.2 is junk and if they did get 4.4.4 they'll be happy until L comes out then their phone is junk again.
