When will Android 2.2 be fixed so I can delete the Trash on my POP mail accounts?

My have over 1000 deleted emails in my POP accounts. Why can't I delete the Trash?

in the email you want to delete the trash in.

Menu,

folders,

trash, (will be the last word on the list)

select up to 18 or so by touching the little box on far left of the header line. The box will turn green, three buttons will appear, hit delete. (If you pick more than20 emails to delete at once it will fc)

it will take a lot of time to delete 1000 emails
