Why does caller ID not work with the Droid?

When I call someone I show up in their caller ID as "Cell Phone WI"

Anyone know why the droid is not sending caller ID information?

what phone do they have?  if they have a dumb phone then they probably have the CityID app which displays the callers location.

The droid will only send the phone number where the call is coming from (unless it is "restricted" by whoever is calling you).  it will list the name of the person too but only if that person is in your contacts.

I mean when I call a land line.   My plan is supposed to have caller ID, but it shows on the land line as "Cell Phone WI"

Instead of my name.

My cell phone has never shown my name.  The reason being the number isn't registered to me by the phone company it is registered to Verizon by the phone company.  Therefore it will have a city name where the number is registered (makes it easier for them to look up the number when setting up your account I imagine).  It has nothing to do with your phone it has to do with how cell phones work.

Are you a new Verizon customer?  I know that Sprint will send the Name and number, but Verizon never sends the name.  It just comes up as "Wireless Caller".
