Why is Backup Assistant still messed up?

I called support over a month ago(sometime in October) because my backup assistant was showing it wasn't synching. And then I subsequently realized that my contacts were screwed up. Apparently several contacts I had updated since August had reverted to their original Facebook (past address) listings.
I had added new phone numbers and additional email address for existing contacts. These numbers are gone, infact one of them doesn't even exist in my backup (online). Verizon said they were fixing this, but now its December and its happening again?
Is this just a problem I'm having with Droid X? Why bother creating and updating contacts if the device/verizon are going to delete the information? what is the backup assistant good for since its only got 170 contacts vs the over 230 I have on my phone (and its showing that its synced)...?

I have provided some information below that may help.
Step 1 – Try resetting the backup assistant application.
http://support.vzw.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=34878
Step 2 – Check to see if backup assistant has an update.
http://support.vzw.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=33955
Step 3 – Visit the backup assistant website and correct any contacts that don’t appear correct. (Instructions below)
-Visit www.verizonwireless.com
-Login using your username and password
-Select the Messaging tab once logged in
-Select contacts
-Highlight the preferred contact and select edit
-Edit as desired
Step 4 – Resync the backup assistant application.
Step 5 – Complete another backup (as long as everything appears contact with the contacts).
Alternative method to store and edit contacts.
Step 1 – Try exporting the .CSV file from the backup assistant website to the Gmail account. (Instruction article below)
Exporting from back up assistant

Importing into Gmail

Gmail Synchronization on device

***As long as the backup assistant contacts were correct, Gmail will store all the backup assistant contacts via .CSV. Once Gmail has been updated, it will sync them down to the device. Once this is done, and if the device contacts are correct, I would do a backup using the backup assistant.
