Why won't my news feeds update automatically?

My hubby gave me a Droid X for Christmas & I'm still learning how to use it.   I have widgets set up for a couple of different feeds, but they're not updating.  They're all stuck somewhere between December 30 & January 1.  The actual websites have new articles posted, but they're not getting to my phone.  I have the widget setting at one week.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

well thats a good present to receive crissy you got a good phone lets try a accouple things first have u tried a batt pull its easy pull the battery an when its out of the X take an press the power button for a mere 20 sec.and install the ol batt back in there fire her up an check an see if this resolves the problem if it doesnt let's do a * 228 send then option 1 to reset the phone an this is ok to do this crissy an see if that fixes the issue. if u have a app killer on your X like advance task manager get rid of it because it can cause havec or there may be a possibility u have a app causing conflict with ur news updates but give those few things i listed a try an see if it works for ya!  if they dont u might have to do factory reset but i hope u wont need to good luck to ya an like i said if they dont work repost an we'll cross that bridge. Ra :smileywink:

I wanted to add: Wildman, Geri O , or Demmo might no more of  whats causing this problem an they can also assist in helping solve this issue for ya if my remedy does'nt Work for Ya.! :smileyhappy:

Thank you for the help.  Pulling the battery didn't work.  If I do *228 to reset the phone, will I lose any of my settings etc?  Forgive my stupidity, I'm still learning.  :smileyhappy:

Hey Chrissy that's how u learn an ur not stupid! Ok an doing that reset will be ok i've done a reset more than once an my share of factory resets but give this a try an see if this works if u do need to do a factory reset u should call  verizon an get a hold of teck service they'll walk u thru it: the reason i say this they can check ur account see if things are in line for your account an do the reset it the best way to do it an they're open till 10:00 pm Mountain time i think so try one more method i described an if it still doesnt work I'd call teck an again you are not stupid just learning a new thing we all have had to cross that bridge once or twice before so good luck to ya and lett us know if that worked for ya! :smileyhappy:  Ra

Take a look at the Power Control widget.

It's the bar with five toggles

WiFi / Bluetooth / GPS / Sync / Display Brightness

Make sure the (Data) Sync is enabled.
