There's quite a growing list of issues with this phone but one of the most annoying is the wifi signal strength. I have full and fast signal when I have direct line of sight to the wireless router. But if I move more than 6 feet away it drops to 3 bars, 2 bars at 12 ft and basically unuseable at 20 ft. Other devices I have don't have this issue. I imagine its a cheapy antenna but maybe someone has a suggestion?
Sounds like a possibility of a bad router, usually right before a wireless router goes bad the signal usually gets weaker and then simply not connect all together... Do you have any other devices connected to the router and how is its signal? Remember it is normal for pc to have a stronger signal in the same area because of power management and hardware.
another thing to consider, is the router a wireless N device because some B and G only devices has issues giving a good signal to a N base device which your device has?
I've tried setting the router to G, N and G &N and then messed with 20/40MHz signals width and even used the Wifi Analyzer app to verify there was no interference. I admit some routers are better than others but I'm just saying the phone has particular trouble getting a good signal. But thanks for the help!
what encryption are you using? i can connect to my linksys wrt-54g router with wep but not wpa.
do you have any other wireless devices that can work farther than 12 ft from the router?
