When I take a picture camera shuts off not eeasy to get back on found that if star charging it will come on battery is not runn down.
Try clearing the cameras data by going to Settings / Applications / Manage Applications / All Tab / Camera / Clear Data and then reboot....
If that doesnt resolve the issue try clearing the Gallery Data at Settings / Applications / Manage Applications / All Tab / Media Storage / Clear Data
Joe&Molly,
With your battery fully charged plug your phone into your charger. Keep the charger plugged in and take some pictures. If your camera does NOT shut off you have just proved that your battery is defective even though it says that it is fully charged.

I took several pictures with charger on no problem removed charger still no problem it is interminent one time at the Verizon I was told the could get A knew phone if they could not dup. I would have pay 500$ I already paid once I did have ATT service before this not happy.
I must be missing something, why would the battery be a possible issue under this situation, isn't the camera the only thing closing and the rest of the device is fine?
Is the phone powering of also or is just the camera FC?
Joe&Molly,
DO NOT GET ANOTHER PHONE!
A new battery will cost you only a few dollars. Don't punish yourself by holding out for Verizon to give you a new battery. Life is to short to put up with the aggravation of a battery that shows it's fully charged "voltage wise" but is NOT able to hold the proper "Amperage."

His first post made it sound like he took a photo and the camera shut down which is not the way mine works. I can take a photo and the camera is still on the display ready to take a second or third photo and so forth.

I got that part but that means the application is closing only and if so then the charger shouldn't have anything to do with the issue. If the whole phone turned off then I would say to check battery and charger but not if only a app is closing.
If you are playing Pandora and the app closes on it own after clicking on something, there wouldn't be any reason to suspect a power issue or charging issue and this is no different.
