can't send from an email account in native email client (but can in K9)

There's a number of posts in this forum on being able to receive, but not send emails.  Presuming the port and authentication settings were correct for the intended server, the consensus was that the ISP server may not be allowing traffic not on their network.   One thread was on Qwest for example.  I though I had this situation with Dotster.com as I got authentication errors when trying to send via the native email client.  After talking with Dotster and unsuccessfully trying various ports and enabling/disabling settings, I downloaded K9 email client and was able to send via that same Dotster account.

To me, this indicates a bug, or a least a limitation, with the native email client.  Has anyone experienced this same condition?  Does someone know how to report this condition so it might get corrected in a software update?.  I rather like the native email client interface and would like to use it in the future.

That is a very strage situation, everytime I ever had a issue sending from a account it was either my fault for misentering information of the server simply wouldnt allow it, I never thought of this being a software conflict...... Well if you wanted to report this issue for consideration for a software fix you should go to Motorola support page for the Droid X and issue a problem report there so they can review the report.
