Just got my droid x and love it..Only thing is it seems to keep track of messages btwn you and your contacts. If I go to contacts and slide the screen over it has a list of recent messages (even though I deleted the txt thread from within messaging). Is there a way to clear this history as well?? Or keep it from saving it at all??

Are you referring to text messages, facebook messages, myspace, or twitter messages? If you are referring to text messages make sure you go through these steps to delete the messages from your device.

Once you are looking at your text messages click Menu>select multiple>check the messages to delete>click delete.

Even if you select multiple messages for deletion, you still can go to contact history and you will see your contacts side of the conversation.  Your messages have been deleted, but not theirs. 

There is no way at this time to delete these messages/history unless you delete the contact and add them back in. 

I do wonder though if there is a history storage space capacity, I somehow don't have a couple texts back from 2 or 3 contacts from the day I got the phone (16th)

it deletes the CHAT  not the history  if you go to contact and thumb to the right its there and unremovable

please advise

It's a known issue.  There's currently no work around other than a factory reset.
