difficulty recharging long life battery

the last few days I've gotten the message: " Disconnected.  Remove charger from outlet to conserve energy" while trying to recharge the battery.  It looks as tho the battery is charging but it's not.  I've tried the hard re-boot twice and it didn't change anything.  This is not a consistent thing...sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  Also the battery icon is almost fully green and yet the battery manager says there's only a little over 6 hrs left.

Any ideas?  Help would be appreciated.  This phone has the newest update on it and until the last few days there have been no problems.

On Froyo this was a common issue after update but this is a first I heard of this on GB, try the solution that worked for Froyo....  Goto Settings / Applications / Manage Applications / All Tab and clear cache for Battery Manager and Battery and Data Manager and then reboot, after this plug up device on a walll charger and this time when it says full you should be good....

This happens usually because the phone doesnt notice the battery as a extended battery and stops charging at the standard battery maximum level..  Clearing cache allows it to see the battery correctly.

This is a Droid X, in use since November.  This just started about 10 days ago, after new update.  I've had this plugged into the wall charger for about 6 hours and it's not charging.  I get the little battery icon with the lightning bolt and the little green charge indicator is moving back and forth, but it's not charging.  I did not get the message that it was charging and telling me what the percentage left on the battery is.  I've found that if the battery is down to 10 or 20 percent it will charge....however, it's not always convenient to let it get that low.  Sometimes it will charge if I turn it off, plug in the charger, then turn it back on.  Turning it off long enough to charge is not an option as we are traveling and is our only phone.

Do you have another charger or can you verify if it is a cord issue?  If not PM and I can send you another cord because it sounds like a cord/charger issue.

Also the battery icon is almost fully green and yet the battery manager says there's only a little over 6 hrs left.

Any ideas?

Where do you see how much time your battery has left? Are you talking about under Battery Usage? That's how much time you've been off the charger.

As far as your overall charging issue, it almost sounds like your charging cord or charging port on the phone is a little off. Have you tried moving the wall charger cord around and see if it helps? Or try a different charger

I believe they are mistaking the Battery Manager info, this options shows how long the system ran on battery power since last plugged in not how long the device has left on battery power.
