Have you tried connecting the two with the USB cable, letting the drivers load, then 'dragging and dropping' the files?
I would look into installing Airdroid from the Playstore. I just recently started using it to access the files on my phone from the computer and it works amazingly.
I use Dropbox to do it. You can configure dropbox to automatically upload your pictures to the cloud. You also run an app on your computer to sync to it, and your pictures will sync automatically without you doing a single thing.
