downloaded photo are cropped when uploaded to facebook, they show up as UNcropped, the photos in question have a little box in at the bottom/right showing the uncropped version when clicked. how do i correct to show cropped version

when i download photos off the internet and crop out surrounding background successfully, when i upload to facebook the photos show up as un-z hecropped??? i notice that the photos that won't upload properly have a little icon in the lower right, that when clicked on show the un-cropped version. plz help!
