i have a droid 2 with android version 2.3.3. When i try to either download an app from the android market or simply update an installed app, the download pauses stating that it is waiting for Wi-Fi. This just started after loading a new version of android software.

I believe what Wildman was referring to is: Menu > Settings > Battery & data manager > Data saver. If Data Saver is checked then downloads will wait for WiFi.

I believe there is a option under Settings / Wireless and Networks that can only allow apps to connect background data request through a wifi connection, I dont know the exact directory but check the directory in the location I noted and see if you can locate it and make sure its not checked.

Sorry, couldn't find the control you were talking about, did not see anything under Settings/Wireless and network settings.
