droid 2 texting issues

Wondering if anyone knows any known issues with the Droid 2  & texting. My phone acts like it doesn't have

enough memory to text a message (lot's of hesitations) and also flips back and forth between having the

key pads on the touch screen and being able to see the whole message.  Have switched my input method to

swype and it no longer does it but thinking something is wrong with my phone?  Have 2 Droid 2's and now they

are both doing it. Was also resending random messages, sometimes to only some of the recipients. Also, just started since the last software update.  Thanks.

If you want to use the Multi-Touch keyboar try this:

When the stock multi-touch keyboard freezes, acts funny, etc. go to:

Menu > Manage apps > All > Multi-Touch keyboard > Clear data [and clear Cache if it's not 0]

Others have found that turning off  "Next word prediction" in the Multi-Touch keyboard settings also seems to help prevent keyboard freezes.

Menu > Settings > Language & Keyboard > Multi-Touch keyboard > Next word prediction"

I have noticed some issues with the Droid 2 as well; ever since the software change.  My phone sometimes turns itself on after I shut it off.  Also, I notice the screen freezes when I try to type/ text a message or chat with Skype.  I took the battery out, even reset the phone.  This seemed to help only temporarily.  I took the advice below with regards to cleaning out the cache.  That seemed to help a lot.  But the phone turning on by itself is still there,

Sconi1, I'm glad the previous troubleshooting steps worked for the keyboard issue on your phone. We have seen some other reports of the phone powering back on after being powered off, and are working on a software fix to resolve this.
