droid 2 turns itself on

My phone recently downloaded an update and now it turns itself on after I have turned it off........isn't happening consistently, but it is happening (usually within 15 minutes of turning it off).

I have Android 2.3.3 and Version 4.5.608.A956

I know that others are having this problem, but just adding another user to the list,

Please add this user to the list of the phone powering on by itself.  Seems to be that if I power it off, wait for it to turn itself back on, then power it off again, it seems to stay off.  Takes a few minutes to do.  When will this be fixed?  Who can I call to complain?

add this caller to the list of phones that also power back ON after turning it OFF. i have to fly for my job and i have to keep my phone in front of me just in case it turns ON so that i can turn it OFF before the airline attendent kicks me off the plane, the idea about pushing this problem to the FCC is at this time the best idea that i have read in all these emails, since neither motorola nor verizon seem to want to fix this problem, i never had problems like this with my LG phone.

Hello kxhansen,

I would like to let you and the other owners of the Droid 2 that the issue of the device powering itself on after being powered down has been raised to Motorola by our Product Support Team. There will be an update sent out to the devices once it is available. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience.

Thanks very much!

Most recent update has not resolved the issue of the Droid 2 turning itself back on by itself.  Mine has done it three times in the last two days (make that four times now).  Currently suing 4.5.621.A955.Verizon.en.US

Hope there is a fix for this soon. My phone turned itself on during flight from DC to LA. Didn't realize it because I put it in a briefcase after turning it off. When I retrieved the phone in LA it was on and the fully charged battery was nearly drained.

Same here. I thought I was going crazy. It is dangerous to have the phone turn itself on during a flight.

My Droid recently started to turn itself on too. From a security standpoint, I'm concerned that it is being accessed and used to monitor whatever is going on around the phone itself or being used by a group like Anonymous to create denial of service attacks.

I solved the problem by removing the battery, which isn't too hard if you don't have a protective cover.
