Your pictures should actually be stored on the SD card in the folder /mnt/sdcard/DCIM/Camera.
One way to move the pictures to your computer is to use the phone as an external drive. To set this up you will need to change your USB settings. To do that, make sure your USB cable is not connected. Then, from any home screen, press the Menu button (left physical button) and then select Settings > USB settings and choose "Mass storage".
Now connect the USB cable that came with the phone to the phone and DIRECTLY to your computer. On the phone, you should see a screen saying "USB connected" with a button that says "Connect USB storage" - press that button. Now, on your computer, open the "Computer" of "My Computer" window (I assume you have a PC; I am not familiar with how to do this on a Mac). You should see the phone as a removable disk. Click on it and then navigate to the DCIM folder and then the Camera folder, where you pictures should be listed as files. You can then transfer these to your computer folders where you normally store pictures.

Thanks, WCMac.
Coming from a BBStorm2, the Charge's internal memory and SD card set up was driving me crazy! Your post really helped me find the pictures I was looking for. I spent an hour trying to figure out how to set the camera to send pics to the card. Now I understand it automatically does that, but just hides the photos. You just need to know where to look.
Side Question: When I would hook up my Storm to my computer by USB, I would get two (2) separate external drives (one was the Storm's internal memory, the other was the SD card). With the Charge, the phone is listed on my computer as a CDRom drive that is inaccessible through the Explorer (Windows 7). So I guess you cannot access the phone's internal memory from a computer.....is this correct?
Again, thanks for the help. This was driving me nuts!!!

I think that is correct, but I can't be 100% sure. When I connect via USB, all I see in the Explorer window under My Computer is a drive letter that represents the SD card. But I have never tried to access the on-board ROM/RAM, so I can't say that I have a sure answer.

Hello aredrosefl,
I understand the frustrations the SD card has caused you and would like to get it working properly. Are you seeing an SD card icon at the top right hand corner when using the camera? Are you able to move any of your apps to SD card? How much available internal and external storage do you have? To check space: Menu> Settings> SD and Phone Storage. In same screen make sure the SD card is mounted as well. Please let me know if I can troubleshoot any further.
