droid goes to sleep to soon

I am new to this droid thing and i have noticed that it goes to sleep veryy quickly like almost 5 or 10 seconds. Is there a way to prevent this? Also noticed that while on charge can't wake it up? Has this happened to anyone else?

Any chance you read the manual? It contains a lot of "customization" information, including the "Timeout" (e.g., Sleep).  If you go into SETTINGS and click on SCREEN TIMEOUT you can change that.

As far as not waking up when CHARGING, can you be more specific. Because it SHOULD wake up if you briefly press the power button OR the MENU button. Is the phone POWERED OFF when you put it in CHARGE mode? or are you sayting it is powered up and you plug the charger in? Is the charger in the USB of your PC or is this plugged into a 110v outlet?

FYI - The Droid can be woken up by pressing the Home button, not the menu button

duh, you're right ...   I just got so used to pressing hichever button and forgot the name of the 2nd 1 from the left ...  lol  ...
