droid lagging

I have had my moto droid for about a month. And it has been great till this last week. It is lagging in everything. If you try and select someone from your contacts to make a call it lags. Sometimes just trying to get to contacts is a chore.

I cleared all my caches out, and got rid of all of my apps beside 2. It is still lagging. Now I have read that people are going back to adp 1.51  now Im not sure what this is or how you get to find it on the phone. I would like to get it back to normal operating again.  Any help would be great.

the droid was released with the 2.0 os system so going back to the 1.5 cannot be done since we have never been there.  they will be referring to the htc eris.

try a battery pull, maybe two in a row.  see if that helps

If the battery pull does not work, yoy have to try a reset on the whole phone. back up important stuff before doing so

You have gotten rid of all but 2 apps, however, what are those 2 apps?

It only takes 1 poorly written app to cause problems.  If it is something like a "Home Screen Replacement" program, or the (most likely) useless anti-virus apps, those could certainly be the issue.  Have you tried un-installing and rebooting the phone?  Sometimes things like a "stuck" app can cause slowness, like the buggy pandora app/widget.

How many "widgets" are running on your phone, and which ones?  Try removing all widgets from all the screens, back to like it was when you got the phone.  It would only take a couple of minutes to try out, and won't require much in the way of having to re-setup sutff like if you did the factory reset.

You might also try installing "Spare Parts" from the market. Install it, reboot, run your phone a little both actively, and letting it "sleep" a little, then go into Spare Parts and see what apps have been using the most CPU time since reboot.  It may point you to the right direction.
