Noted, Although this is an obvious conclusion, but it sounds like your camera is broken.

Go to your local store and ask them to place an order for a warranty phone for you.  You will still have to wait the same time frame as back-ordered phones though.

Um. I don't even know if warranty would take it in the to be honest. If there is any physical or liquid damage done to the phone that voids warranty. However if there is just a glitch with the phone and the camera is just malfunctioning then the person can return it. In fact I bet he/she can get a newer phone since their still within that 30 day policy.

Oh I see what you mean.  At this point when I say a warranty phone I mean a replacement.  They shouldn't have any warranty (refurb) phones yet.

Call 1-800-922-0204 or *611. Option 3 "Technical Support". They will send you a new phone on the 23rd when supply catches up to demand. They will be unable to fix this, but they will definetly send you a new one for free.

My local store get's their stock on Thursdays, so if you get them to order a replacement for you, you just might score your replacement that Thursday the 22nd, instead of the following Monday.  Of course it depends on when your local store gets it's stock.

Photos that I tried to display went to black screen for me too.  Only option out was back to HOME via home key.

Today it seems to be working though.

Still have lots of Q's and problems willbe worked out.  give it a chance to fully charge and reset.  Then we go look for fixes.

Keep us informed.

Called verizon 611 OR 1.800.922.0204 and they're sending me a brand new phone over night.

Note* My camera became defective inside of 30 days, representative treated phone as DOA.

Customer service = excellent, perfect English and very informative.

As of 9/9/2010 they have Droid X, 2, incredible in stock.

Backup:
