droid x merging duplicate contacts

On the droid x unable to merge duplicated contact info on the device. I'm trying to add like people from facebook to the same name for phone on my phone and I'm not having any luck please help me.

From contacts, select contact, edit contact, then from the menu choose join :smileyhappy:  hope this helps.
