droid x problems~again

Ever since the 'gingerbread' update my phone has sucked. i have already done one factory reset which made it better for a little while. now it's back to being awful. the response time is so slow for opening anything, app, email, text. keyboard is slow/lagging, camera is so slow to open and take pictures, i never have a signal or 3g. I've dropped so many calls I feel like I'm back with At&t or Sprint. My phone doesn't ring half the time. My email alerts are coming in hours after the fact.....you name it and I have the problem. Is there anything I can do other than another reset?

When you did your factory reset, did you make sure that none of your dowhloaded apps were put back in? From what you stated, it sounds like an apps is causing all the slowups. Either do another factory reset, or go into safe mode. Do not put your downloaded apps in if you do a FR. See if these troubles still exist.

I have like a total of 5 apps that I've put on the phone, the others are all the crap that comes with it. If 5 apps cause all this, then the phone can suck it. I had a heck of a lot more on the phone before the "upgrade" never had a problem.

It just takes one that's not compatible with Gingerbread.  It may have "played nice" with FroYo but has been updated by the developer to work with GB.

Just a possibility.....

The symptoms you are noting sound very much like you have a rogue 3rd party APP causing your problems. As Dirk pointed out, all it takes is 1 bad APP to cause the grief. Especially since you said that it was fine for a short amount of time after a Factory Reset.  If it is persistent, you can likely prove/disprove that it's a rogue APP by testing in SAFE MODE. If it runs fine in that mode, you have a bad APP, sorry ... time to Uninstall - and test in between removing them until you find the 1 causing your problem.

SAFE MODE for a Droid X -

- Power off

- Press & HOLD the Menu button

- Power up device - continue to HOLD the Menu button

after about 1-2 mins, the phone should come up and say SAFE MODE in lower left ... TEST ...  To get out of SAFE MODE, power off/on as usual.

Also you can back up apps with GOOGLE through the https://market.android.com/mylibrary?feature=top-nav&pli=1 login to google account and all your apps should be under my library and just click and reinstall. This will work through your browser on your PC.
