droid3 backup assistant

I got bogo droid 3 and have been unable to import contacts with backup assistant. I talked to tech support and have the right password, have taken battery out, and still can't sync. It tells me the network is unavailable to call *611. I noticed it's not under apps but it is under accounts. I tried to delete the account by touch & hold but it won't let me. I can't clear the cashe or info either. Do I need to do a reset of some type? Will I loose all my settings?

You can also export the contact information out of the Backup Assistant and import them into your Google account contacts. Then sync your phone with the Google account. Based on the posts I have read on this community for close to a year, it might be safer in the long run.

I've had the same problem...  called tech support and after doing a hard reset, we found that the problem is that Backup Assistant will not work if you have WiFi enabled.  If you have Wifi enabled, go to Settings and temporarily disable your WifI when you want to run BA.  They need to add this to the BA documentation.
