email app won't run

I erased all my deleted emails (about 7000 of them) and now I can't start the mail app. It gives me an error message that "process com.htc.android.mail has stopped unexpectedly. please try again"

Of course I've tried again and again, and restarted the phone a couple times but no change... keep getting the same message.

Now what?

Hello Don99GT! Sorry to see that you're having problems with the email on your Incredible. May I ask who your email service provider is (Yahoo!, Gmail, Hotmail, Comcast, other)? As long as you remember the email address and password to your email account, you can also try to delete the email account and then re-add the profile to your device to see if that resets this problem. You can do that by going to Menu> Settings> Accounts, clicking on the email account, then clicking on Settings> Delete account.
