Can you be more specific ? What is the error you are getting? Did you go into "MY ACCOUNTS" (in the APPS drawer) and confirm that your Userid & Password are entered correctly? has this EVER worked for you?

Don't ask me how or why but sometimes the information on an Email server will change by itself. It's happened to me. What I did was delete the specific account and re-install it. Make sure all your information (Port numbers and security) are correct. Don't copy the numbers you currently have, because they probably are not correct. I can give you all the info you will need if I know who your server is.

You may want to check if your email is trying to send receive while you are connected via Wi-Fi. My bellsouth email would only send if I was connected via 3G. I would get error when connected Wi-Fi.
Good luck.

Are you sure for incoming, it's a comma after the word "pop" and not a period?

You're correct, it should be a period and not a comma.

Well, I ended up just having to remove the old email account and replacing it with a new one. A new one with exactly the same information. I'd really like to know what it is that makes my phone just decide one day that it's not going to play nicely with the same account it's been getting along with just fine for months. Of course what I'd REALLY like to know is why I have to put my phone in a snow bank (when I'm at the airport and don't have access to a freezer) to get it to start up again after I've powered down. Until someone can explain these things to me I guess I'll just continue to do as my phone tells me. Thank you for trying to help - I really do appreciate your taking the time.

Bring up the Power Control widget.
The second right button on the right is (data) Synchronization.
You need to leave that on.
In Settings -> Data Manager -> Data Delivery
Background data, Data enabled
check boxes need to be checked.
Data Roaming needs to be checked if you travel outside your cover area frequently (roaming charges apply).

I once had a problem with my Hotmail account. I deleted it and then added it back in. Haven't had a problem with it yet. You might try doing that.
