When in 3G my Google maps will not reflect my current location, after pressing the icon in the upper right corner for about three times I receive a statement ' your current location not available at this time'? No problem when the GPS is activated.
To make sure Google maps works on 3G I drove down to the Verizon store and tried there DX, and yes it worked fine on 3G.
I have updated the Google map app, removed the Google map update and reinstalled, but the same issue remains. I wanted to completely remove the maps and reinstall, but no can do..
Does anybody have any solutions? I did check my settings and I do have the 'use wireless checked.

Go to settings/ locations & Security, make sure you have Use GPS and Allow Assisted GPS check marked.

On my DX, I *MUST* have GPS turned on to ever get a proper find on my LOCATION. If I don't have GPS turned on, I always see that same error you are seeing. It was my understanding that you won't get a LOCATION find on just 3G - locations services requires the GPS Satellites to pin-point your location ... And if GPS alone doesn't do it, I always have toclick on the "Enable Assisted GPS" setting as well ... Also, I often can't get a GPS signal inside my house. good luck.
