Now they are not (works in applications though so the accelerometer is fine). I called support and they said that the phone is not supposed to rotate to landscape unless I open the keyboard. However, it most certainly was until I noticed this morning that it was no longer working. Anyone else experience this?

My Droid has never rotated the Home Screen without sliding out the keyboard - I have to say I'm kind of jealous! There's another Verizon Community User, Snorkel, complaining of the same thing that you are. He said something about some sort of OTA update? I have no idea what that is. But apparently until this morning, he too, was able to get the home screen to rotate to landscape w/o having to pull out the keyboard.

Thanks for the info, I found the thread where snorkel mentioned that and I am having the exact same behavior. OTA means Over-The-Air. Apparently they pushed out some update to the OS that made this happen. Bizarre that they would do that, IMO.
