That is one very handy Widget! The best and easiest way to do this is to start from your Home screen. Enter your Applications menu, and locate your Messaging app icon. Press and hold on the icon for a few seconds, and the screen should swap over to your Home Screen. From there, simply place it on an open spot on your screen, and you are all set!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us! Thank you adamant118. Take care!

Adamant118,

Touch the menu button (bottom left corner) so you are at page 1 of your main menu.

Then hold your finger on any blank area in the Main Menu for a couple of seconds.  An "Add to home screen" menu will come up.  Touch shortcuts and then touch Applications.  Go down the list of applications to Messaging and touch it.

You will now have the Messaging Icon on your phones main menu.

The problem is that you CANNOT drag it down to the Primary Shortcuts area at the bottom of the screen next to your phone and contacts shortcuts.

THEREFORE  SEE MY NEXT POST ON HOW TO GET IT INTO THE PRIMARY SHORTCUTS AREA.

This might work for you and your phone but it sure doesn't work for mine. All the drag does is remove it.

Stranger 612 & Adamant118,

Ages ago I, too, lost the Messaging Shortcut and I thought that was what I did.  It appears that all my previous message does is put Messaging Shortcut on the home screen and there is NO way to then put it down into the "Primary Shortcuts' at the bottom of the  screen...yuk!

The good news is that there is an even easier answer, so try this.  From the home screen touch the Applications Icon that is in the Primary Shortcuts.

Next, look through your application icon pages and find the green colored Icon named Messaging.  Once you find it press the MENU button on the lower left corner of the phone.  Next press EDIT and there will be a box around all the Apps .  Finally do a long press on the Messaging Icon and drag it down to the position you want it in the Primary Shortcut area.  Finally press the MENU button and then press SAVE and you're done...Yea!

Notce...it removes the the Messaging from your applications.  That appears to be the way it does it because both the PHONE and CONTACT shortcuts were also removed from the APPS pages when they were moved down to the Primary Shortcuts area.

I tested this and it does work.

Best of luck.

Thank you Jerry F. That "how to" worked like a charm. Now if I could get a Windows HTC 8X phone and keep my current

plan. Droid phones are ok but I think the Windows HTC phone would work better for me and yes I would have left the droid world earlier but the first Windows phone wasn't much and I held back. Maybe next time...... or jump ship?

Unless you have an old calling plan or unlimited data, you should be able to keep your current plan when upgrading.
