Hi Hochhalter73,

Excellent question! Was your device on Prepaid or Postpaid services? A mobile hotspot gives internet connections to other devices via Wi-fi. Your device would have to be active on the VZW network to use as a mobile hotspot. Did you want to know how to use the device on Wi-fi only status?
