If you are using multouch keyboard... Open text message / Menu / Emotions I believe.

Hi. This is my 1st post actually, but I wanted to respond with the answer here since it took me 4 days to figure out! :smileywink:

 

While composing your text, click on the settings button. (The button on the actual phone with the 4 squares)

 

This is my 1st smartphone so I'm still learning too.

Click text box Press the square icon and it says smiles or emoticons.

to add a smiley simply use the button that has the 4 squares then you will see a tab that says insert smiley it is very easy to do.
