how do you unlock a Samsung Charge if someone locked it on purpose?(without the phone owner's permission)

can the phone be unlocked if the phone's account owner calls Verizon tech support

or brings the phone to a Verzion corporate store?

Dear potove,

Exactly what security is preventing you from opening the phone?  Did someone set a password for the screen unlock and then forgot it, or refuses to tell you (that would be a whole other story!)?

I don't know any sure method for erasing a forgotten or otherwise unrecoverable password for screen unlock, but here is a method for a hard reset of the phone that you can try.  Keep in mind this will wipe out all contacts, settings, non-native apps and special home screens you have on the phone, as well as accounts.  Pretty drastic, so you may want to go to the VZW store and see what they can do BEFORE you do this.

  • Turn the power off. If your Samsung DROID Charge is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
  • Hold the Volume Down button
  • Press and release the Power button
  • You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
  • Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
  • Press and release the Power button
  • Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO

All data including third-party applications will be deleted from the Samsung DROID Charge. Once the wipe is complete, the phone will reboot to its factory fresh state.
