Unfortunately, Skype is a "forever" apps and you can not legally delete it. However, if you use a launcher, such as launcher pro (there is a free version), you will be able to hide it and all the other unnecessary bloatware such as City ID. I too am of the idea that since this is MY phone, I should be able to get rid of those apps I know I shall never use. You can do it with computers which also have bloatware, and as far as I'm concerned, a smartphone is a miniature computer.
