how to remove email account

can anyone help with this issue?

motorola droid3 phone

settings -> accounts  does not show email account

email app shows the email account is active and receiving messages.   I remove the account frequently from the phone since I also check the same email account on my computer.

power cycling the droid3 does not resolve.

I would recommend a master reset.

master reset won't remove it.

i changed my password on my cox pop3 account on the home pc & when the phone accessed the account threw an error mesage, from there i could remove the account & re-create.
