Yeah, I for one will be very surprised if the update is actually re-released. They (HTC) keep saying "soon".. but I think "Soon" means never. They and certainly Verizon would rather us spend more $$$ and buy a new phone, they have small incentive to fix this. Sure updates take time to do and test, but come on, Gingerbread was released just shy of A YEAR ago... plenty of time - especially since it was done, except for the stupid bugs.
If I didn't want to lose my unlimited plan, I would switch to AT&T/iPhone and get away from this fiasco.

As if AT&T is any better? All US wireless carriers stink now, and the smell just gets worse and worse every time value for dollar is reduced. European socialism might be in the tank right now, but they sure know how to run a cell phone infrastructure. Beats the crap out of ours hands-down.

Yup. They all are aweful. Just for laughs I sent another email to HTC support, and once again got the same canned message:
It has come to the attention of Verizon Wireless and HTC that customers using the Incredible by HTC have experienced a voicemail notification error with the recent software update. As a result, the update has been "temporarily suspended" while the companies work together to resolve the issue. Verizon Wireless and HTC anticipate the update being available soon; you will be notified directly on your device when it is ready for download.
What a joke.
