i just spent an hour with a tec. (ha) rep and their supervisor (even more ha ) just to get how to select how turn on version data and wi-fi and how to tell which is "active" i dare not try to ask any more i will just experiment... i have 3 symbols on the top left ???? one a suit case with arrow, one triangle with in it and a "stamp" with @  in it

any clue i can guess but would like to know correctly what they represent

Did you pull down the notification bar to see what each one is telling you?

I know one is a notification for app updates available in the Play Store.

thx 4 that - they had me so confused this am and i am in the east end og l.i. and my vill was flooded out so i became brain dead and forgot the "pull down" thanks 4 that - other software was far easier but not as quick 4 me i like it except upgrade cancelled my auto backup.  finally got it corrected after 1.5 hours - thanks bob

He was right about the briefcase with the arrow being a notification for the play store updates. The @ symbol in the envelope should be for an email that is not gmail and the exclamation point usually indicates that there is a problem (loss of data or voice service, sim error, sd card error, data roaming). I hope this helps a bit more.
